There are books out there on just about every topic imaginable, from Star Trek to investment banking, and chances are that any given person’s interests are just as diverse. Believe it or not, there are people out there who would pay for your knowledge, whatever topic you may be experienced with. However, certain topics may be more profitable than other topics when it comes to selling ideas in the form of an e-book.
One way to find out what people are interested in learning about is to do a little online research. Those topics that are bestsellers will inevitably branch off into things that you are an expert at, and in turn can profit from. Think about your day – you get up in the morning, wake up the kids, pack their lunches – aha! You could write about kids’ nutrition; that’s something lots of people are interested in learning and actually need to know about. Or maybe while driving the kids to school you notice a slight difference in your car, and make a mental note to change the oil later. Why not write an e-book on car maintenance for non-mechanics? While some e-book ideas sell better than others, by sticking to topics that the general public can relate to you can insure a larger profit.
